The company's line of activity is the design and production of light single engine four-seat aircraft.

The four-seat all-metal structure aircraft model AC 168 Aeroskif is a light single-engine reciprocating terrestrial single-pilot airplane and is intended for contact flights at daytime and at night in visual meteorological conditions outside the ice accumulation areas; it uses, in the capacity of runways, the surfaced areas and the unpaved airfields with the shear strength of at least 2-3 kg/cm2, with the grass surface layer depth of up to 15 cm; the aircraft can be used on high-level aerodromes.

Layout

As far as the aerodynamic design is concerned, the plane is an all-metal structure low-winged aircraft with a propelling power unit, all-flying empennage group and a fixed tricycle landing gear with a nose unit.

The AC 168 Aeroskif model aircraft is four-seat, with the seats positioned in line, side by side (for the pilot and three passengers). The engine is positioned on the engine bed and is separated from the fuselage pilot compartment by a firebreak partition.

Prior to the front seats, next to the firebreak partition, the front landing gear' and rudder controls are located, with a hydraulic brake system.

In the pilot compartment's forebody, an instrument panel and a dual wheel control system are located.

In the aircraft's middle part, on the center wing section and the load-bearing pedestal, the pilot' and co-pilot (passenger) seats are installed; in the rear part of the compartment, the rear seats' load-bearing pedestal is located, with the backrest (settee) for two passengers; the front and rear seats are equipped with three-point seat belts; behind the rear seats' backrest a luggage compartment is located.

In the middle part, under the fuselage, the main landing gear is installed on load-bearing wing spars.

The wing roots are connected to the center wing section that is riveted to the fuselage and comprises a one-piece wing; the wing roots feature the wing tanks, the airspeed' and static heads, two landing and taxi lights, the strobe lights and the stall detector.

The empennage features a rechargeable battery, a tail assembly and a tailskid.

The AC 168 Aeroskif model is designed as an affordable four-seat en-route aircraft for pilots that expect the maximum usability and versatility from their plane.

While developing the airframe, a special attention has been paid to the manufacturability of the designed structure.

Such an approach ensures high performance characteristics of the product; during the manufacturing stage, it provides for labor input reduction, simplifies the handling and assembly procedures. Due to the airframe rational segmentation, the use of standardized uniform parts and units, use of limited range of material grades, as well as the simplicity of the parts' and units' structural shapes, the possibility of the highly efficient manufacturing processes' employment is ensured, as well as the ease of the accessories' and devices' production, which are produced in minimum numbers.

The units design provides for the maximum assembly-and-riveting works' mechanization and the use of the multipurpose blanking', forging' and metal-cutting equipment.

The plane's airframe is immune to the external weather conditions and the fatigue stresses for the whole service life of the aircraft (50 years). The plant has implemented the quality management system that was instrumental in obtaining the "Production Approval Certificate" awarded by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine that regulates the aircraft/aerospace production sphere and takes decisions on the compliance with the current requirements.

The aircraft features robust landing gear system that has been designed specially for use during the flying training process (heavy landings!)

The main gear consists of an aluminum ¾" thick spring plate and features new type wheel axes absorbing large amounts of energy at tough landings, reducing jumps to a minimum and, as a result, ensuring smoother landings. The main landing gear is reliable in service and requires virtually no maintenance.

The nose landing gear is made from steel and features an aviation grade air-oil shock absorber. The nose leg is steerable and uses yaw rudder pedals for more effective operational control while moving on land. The air-oil shock absorber of the nose gear absorbs shocks and jolts in the landing and taxing operation modes. The nose landing gear wheel design is very robust and unique and, at the same time, very reliable in operation and easy to maintain.

Aircraft engine model IO 375 B1B manufactured by Aero Sport Power with the rated capacity of 200 hp.

This engine features air-cooling system, four horizontally situated opposed cylinders and a direct drive for light aircraft in various configurations.

The engine has been selected to obtain the optimal characteristics and operates reliably and effectively on unleaded automotive fuel. The engine is equipped with two-bladed metal adjustable propeller with an electronic controller (tiptronic) manufactured by Aviapropeller.

Such a propulsion unit, in combination (engine/propeller) with the aerodynamic properties of the wing and of the fuselage have made it possible to achieve optimal performance, as far as the key aircraft characteristics are concerned: the maximum speed, the cruising speed, the rate of climb and the flight range; in the process, the fuel consumption has been kept to a minimum.

Materials:

At the design stage, a decision has been taken not to use composite materials in the power-producing and load-bearing elements of the fuselage frame and the aircraft wings, since the service life, the operating temperature ranges and the atmospheric conditions pertaining to those materials are limited; the production of those materials is characterized by unprofitability and requires the installment of a complex system of quality control (nondestructive testing); the materials require the certification of the work places based on the health hazard characteristics; furthermore, the materials cannot be used for repairs while the aircraft are stationed in remote locations, far from the manufacturing plant.

The main types of materials used in the AC 168 Aeroskif model aircraft production are aluminum alloys and steels. That is why the AC 168 Aeroskif model airframes are durable. The aircraft is immune to the external weather conditions and the fatigue stresses for the whole service life (50 years).

The versatility of the AC 168 Aeroskif model aircraft, their safety, efficiency, fuel indiscriminancy, ease of maintenance, possibility to perform short take offs and landings on unprepared landing strips, low operational costs and relatively low price predetermine a wide range of the aircraft use in various aspects of life.

The models with similar characteristics have inferior safety parameters, are priced higher, characterized by lower service load and higher fuel consumption; they are also more demanding to the landing strip parameters (the length of the takeoff/deceleration run) and maintenance quality.
